Tips tricks & advice for the kitchen!

  • Make your own spaghetti sauce use fresh tomatoes or tinned add garlic herbs whatever you want. It's cheaper and healthier for you.

  • Teach kids to do cooking and cleaning (chores) from a youngish age, they will learn to look after their selves when they do move out it also teach them responsibility. I had to learn a lot of thongs myself and it was really hard when I first started out. Simple things like setting the table, wiping up dishes, feeding animals etc then work them up to things like washing clothes and cooking a meal. It seems cruel I know but its much crueller sending them on their own not knowing how to cook a simple meal! Try and make it fun for them like saying "it's your turn to cook so you get to choose what for tea" Plus if you get sick I am sure your kids would love to help you

  • Pre make sandwiches and freeze them for school lunches etc
This is such a wonderful idea when you sleep in or the kids sleep in just go to the freezer grad a sandwich out and your on your way if packed with a ice block they wont be defrosted til lunch and the kids will have a nice cool sandwich.
Don't forget to write on each individual sandwich bag its contents so there's no mix up

Suitable Fillings To Freeze:
Egg , Lean ham, beef, chicken, turkey, tuna, Cheese, Cream cheese, Peanut butter,Vegemite, marmite or promite
look on net for other foods that can be frozen
